London Fashion Week: Mulberry Spring/Summer 2010

Mulberry is one of my favourite British brands (and I have my eyes firming set on the prize – that being acquiring a Mulberry Alexa bag in just the right shade of Oak) so it was pretty much guaranteed I would love their Spring/Summer 2011 fashion show at London Fashion Week. Since I’m in the midst of working on a very special project, I loved Mulberry’s take on the Secret Garden, inspired by Frances Hodgson Burnett book, with oversized pink roses creating a set for the models to walk around.

Admittedly I was looked beyond the sea of ivory, pale pink, tan and beige coloured outfits and watched the show with a focus on everything below the waist. We loved that the cutest little bulldog trotted out on the runway with the likes of some revamped Alexa and Bayswater bags, as well as some new additions to the Mulberry bag family. Some bags featured tassles, others were shiny, some were studded and other had chain handle detail. It was a great collection of handbags, with a collection of clothes to match (and not the other way around).

Now if only I wasn’t brimming with jealously that the likes of Cat Deeley, Olivia Palermo, Gemma Arterton and Alexa Chung received the official Mulberry-sponsored London Fashion Week bag – a canvas tote picturing one of our secret garden bunnies popping out of an oak Alexa!

I wonder if there will be any placed on ebay.co.uk in the coming weeks…
