Isabella Blow: 3 books about the influential fashion figure to be released this year

Blow by Blow, by Detmar Blow & Tom Sykes; Isabella Blow: A Life in Fashion by Lauren Goldstein Crowe

Buzz started earlier this week over the Isabella Blow book, Blow by Blow written by Detmar Blow and Tom Sykes. Well we did some digging and found that that wasn’t the only book set to launch in the next few months about the influential fashion figure. There is a picture book entitled Isabella Blow edited by Martina Rink with the foreword written by her good friend Philip Treacy and Isabella Blow: A Life in Fashion written by Lauren Goldstein Crowe (who also wrote The Towering World of Jimmy Choo).

No doubt the book by Detmar about his late wife is the most anticipated, not only because he would be able to tell stories that we wouldn’t know already but because Tom Sykes is also the brother of Plum and Lucy. In an except released over the weekend, Detmar wrote:

“My immediate feeling was one of sickening déjà vu: my own father had died in 1977 after drinking weedkiller, and it had killed him in half an hour as the liquid burned out his insides.”

Interestingly enough, Goldstein Crowe and Detmar Blow chose to use the same image of Isabella for the cover. Perhaps it was a favourite of Isabelle’s?
