Models: 1 – Actresses: 2; Covergirl signs Taylor Swift and Lancome signs Penelope Cruz
While models may be taking back the ad campaign territory celebrities that encroached for the last year or two, the beauty spokesperson territory is still firmly leaning on the side of the celebrity with the latest beauty announces proving my point. Over the weekend it was revealed that pop star/actress Taylor Swift had been signed up by CoverGirl to be their ‘easy breezy, beautiful CoverGirl’ and L’Oreal’s former face Penelope Cruz – who’s over-airbrushed mascara ads came under a lot of fire – has been snapped up by Lancome, no doubt after her L’Oreal contract wasn’t extended after the furor.
Who’s ads are you looking forward to seeing first?
