First look: The Versace Unique mobile phone

It was announced in January that Versace were set to join Armani, Dolce & Gabbana and Prada in the mobile phone stakes. Well we have the first pictures of the Versace Unique mobile phone which resembles a gemstone and claims to be the first luxury touchscreen and full-featured multimedia phone.

The Versace Unique phone is everything luxe you would expect from a high end fashion house; it’s hand-assembled in France, the face is constructed from pure high-tech ceramic or handmade lacquers delicately framed with an 18K yellow gold finish or 316L grade stainless steel inlay, with the back wrapped in handcrafted leather and embossed with Versace’s iconic Medusa head logo. The sapphire crystal screen also claims to be impossible to scratch.

“We are excited about Versace Unique. Our team has worked well with our partners at Modelabs to manufacture a very innovative product which perfectly blends luxury materials, craftsmanship and the advanced technologies of LG,” Gian Giacomo Ferraris, Chief Executive Officer of Versace Group said in a release. “As we move forward in the development of our business, we are particularly happy to be able to strengthen the offer of luxury accessories that complement our core fashion products in line with Versace’s DNA.”

Oh and like most phones these days, the Versace Unique phone can check email, play music and video, features a 5-megpixel flash camera and available in an array of colours. It will be sold through exclusive watch and fine jewelry networks and in Versace boutiques around the world next month.

Stay tuned for a retail price. We’re guessing it will retail for at least USD$1,000.
