Comme des Garcons’ Wonderland – the short film for the fragrance

Following in the footsteps of Prada’s mystical Trembling Blossoms film for their entry into the Fashion Film Festival and tied into to their Spring 2008 collection, Comme des Garcons has taken note and unveiled their own mystical fashion film to promote their new fragrance Wonderwood.

The three minute film was created by The Quay Brothers who came up with the concept of woodland happenings from the view of a porcelain doll after smelling the fragrance.

“The film grew as we worked on it,” said Stephen Quay. “As we’re shooting the film, we’re actually cutting it with the music simultaneously to see if it works.”

Wonderland was given a rather unnerving touch with its instrumental soundtrack – which we think was not really the best idea since you want the fragrance to sell. Not freak people out.
