Who needs the model vs celebrity debate when it comes to fashion magazine covers, first Anna Wintour snags the cover of Industrie magazine and now 10 fashion designers have landed on the cover of 10 Magazine‘s 10th anniversary issue. “These are some of the faces that have made our industry and it is an honour to be celebrating them. 10 magazine has a history of celebrating the best creative talent in the world and we are honoured that these icons of fashion agreed to be our cover stars,” says Sophia Neophitou-Apostolu, Founder and Editor-in-Chief. The 10 covers feature a cover line which reads ’10 Fashion Gods About Their Woman’ and stars Alber Elbaz, Azzedine Alaia, Dolce & Gabbana, Donatella Versace, Helmut Lang, John Galliano, Karl Lagerfeld, Ralph Lauren, Tom Ford and Vivienne Westwood.
While we’re ecstatic that Alber Elbaz made the cut, we wish that the late Lee Alexander McQueen had made the cut. Also there’s two glaring omissions… where was Marc Jacobs and Miuccia Prada in this fray? They both have done major things for fashion in the last decade.
