Fashion news update: What we missed

We’ve been a little MIA of late thanks to the run into Rosemount Australian Fashion Week, which starts on May 3rd. Before all that happens there’s the pre RAFW events that have occupied some of our time so it’s been a juggling game of working, blogging, attending events, sleeping and eating. But no excuses, we’re back to regular programming once we’ve given you this quick update on what we’ve missed that you must know.

  • She’s in Australia this week and next for RAFW, but it turns out Garance Dore thinks fat models, or plus-sized models are a gimmick. [Vogue.co.uk]

  • Alessandra Ambrosio is going from strength to strength, she has just announced that she will front the Fall 2010 Moschino ad campaign. [The Cut]
  • Estrella Arches has left Ungaro. First Lindsay Lohan, now Estrella. It was reportedly due to “irreconcilable differences”. [Vogue.co.uk]
  • Do you have a spare 350 euros to spend on a book? Because Kate Moss and Mario Testino are collaborating on a coffee table book that you simply must buy and will be limited to 1,500 copies. [WWD]

  • Juicy Couture’s founders have left the label, so who have the new owners roped in to guest design in their place? Erin Fetherston! She will start next month through to 2011. [WWD]
  • It seemed like just yesterday that Christian Siriano catch-phrased his way through Project Runway, now word is that he’s dressing someone for the illustrious Met Ball which will take place on May 3. [The Cut]
