Natalia Vodianova named face of the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games and YSL S/S 2010

Vancouver, Canada may be the home of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games next month, but we’re actually looking forward to 2014 because one of Russia’s top supermodels Natalia Vodianova has been named as a “face and key advocate of Russia’s first Winter Games”. Set to be held in 2014 in Sochi, Russia the Sochi Winter Olympic committee have a long list of sporting and cultural icons to help promote sport and healthy lifestyles in Russia and spread the Olympic and Paralympic values around the world.

Meanwhile the model, mother and philanthropist can be seen fronting Yves Saint Laurent’s Spring/Summer 2010 advertising campaign. It’s a pairing we never thought of, but we do love the bold contrast and Mondrian-inspired pink, blue and white colour blocking background. Photographed by Inez & Vindoodh, it’s definitely one of our favourites so far. Not that we’re big fans of the spring/summer 2010 campaigns we’ve seen so far.
