V magazine to celebrate the plus-sized in 2010
Shockingly, 2009 seemed to be the year for nude models and “blackface” but things are looking up for 2010 with V magazine reportedly celebrating the plus-sized models for its January 2010 issue. The issue will include top plus-sized model Crystal Renn (pictured) who’s modelled for Vogue‘s ‘Shape’ Issue in 2004 and 2007. “Big, little, pint-size, plus-size – every body is beautiful. And this issue is out to prove it,” V editor Stephen Gan said. Other names touted to appear is Liv Tyler‘s sister, Mia Tyler, Kate Dillon, Whitney Thompson and Hayley Morley (who starred in Mark Fast’s LFW SS2010 show).
Interestingly enough, one of the photographers who was enlisted to shoot an editorial for this issue is Karl Lagerfeld, who made a rather unkind comment about curvy women earlier this year. [Page Six via The Cut]
