hilfiger-ad-smallTommy Hilfiger is set to launch a sunglass collection by the end of 2010 after signing a deal with the Safilo Group (who are behind the eye wear by the likes of Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Giorgio Armani and Marc Jacobs). The 5-year deal will see the two team up to design, developer, produce and distribute Tommy Hilfiger optical and sunglasses collections.

“We are very pleased to begin this new and exciting partnership with one of the world’s leading premium lifestyle brands,” said Roberto Vedovotto, CEO of Safilo Group. “Tommy Hilfiger’s global appeal as a prestigious yet accessible brand will perfectly enhance our brand portfolio. This newly signed agreement gives Safilo a wonderful opportunity to develop an eyewear collection for one of the most recognized American brands in the world.”

Watch out for some All-American sunglasses in November 2010 followed by an optical collection, as well as the sunglasses collection for the optical market in January 2011.
