Natasha Poly for Gucci spring/summer 2010 advertising campaign

I’d love to say I like Gucci’s spring summer 2010 advertising campaign, after all it was a gorgeous collection and Natasha Poly is a great model. But there are only so many high wattage campaigns one can take from Mert & Marcus with models writhing in all directions. Shot in Palm Beach, Poly and Ryan Kennedy do what we all wished we could be doing… posing on a beach and getting paid a lot to do it. Then again we’re not all 6 feet tall and a size 2 with great bone structure. We wish we could see the clothes better, but we get it, handbags make Gucci more money so they’re expertly placed so they’re the main feature of most of the shots. *sigh* Now we wish we could be on a glamorous beach somewhere. Just not Bondi Beach, because that’s just down the road (well 2 suburbs away).
What do you think of Gucci’s Spring 2010 ad campaign?

It’s beautiful, but doesn’t sell Gucci to me. Are they trying to move away from their traditional logo’d bags and etc?
