Alexandre Birman wins the Vivian Infantino Emerging Talent Award

He can count Gossip Girl‘s Blair Waldorf has a fan but footwear designer Alexandre Birman has been graced with another honor, winning the Vivian Infantino Emerging Talent Award at the Footwear News Achievement Awards on Tuesday night. Dubbed the Oscars of the shoe industry this is a great win for the up and coming footwear designer whose debut footwear collection launched in the US for Spring 2008. “I have worked with shoes all my life,” said the Brazilian designer. “But I am a little bit nervous, because now I have to live up to this award!”
Not resting on his laurels, Birman is planning to open his first flagship store in Sao Paolo, Brazil in 2010. If only he had stockist in my neck of the woods!
