Imagine rummaging through a 70-year-old accessory brands archives full of some of the unique bags they’ve designed over the years. It would be like you’ve found yourself in fashion heaven and you never want to leave. That’s how I imagine Australian luxury accessory brand Oroton‘s designer “studio” would have been like to go through…. And they’re giving you the chance to get your hands on some of them!

Each bag that will be released for sale through The Studio (online) has been carefully selected by Oroton’s Creative Director Ana Maria Escobar with bags dating back to the 1970s. Some are old favourites while others have never even made shop shelves because they were too expensive to produce in multiple quantities making them genuine one off items.

We were given a pretty-in-pink bag that really whet our appetites so when the some sneak peeks at some of the bags that Oroton’s Studio will be releasing in the coming weeks, we were really excited. Check them out below.

And in the spirit of giving, Oroton will release two very special designer studio items where 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the charity of your choice. No word on which ones will be released, but it’s sort of like a fashionable advent calender for the holiday season – you have to keep checking back to see what’s available next.

So what are you waiting for? Jump online, tell your friends and get shopping! New pieces will be released weekly until Christmas 2009.

Limited edition Mesh Barrell bag (middle)

In 2008 Oroton celebrated 70 Years. To mark this milestone a limited edition bag was created which reflected not only our 70 year history but also showed the modern fashion focused brand that Oroton is today. The result was the stunning Helena Barrel bag. The design used a unique combination of soft leather with metal mesh in antique qold – a material which is steeped in the brands heritage. During the development of this bag only one was ever made using a snake print patent leather. Combined with a limited edition plaque both externally and internally, this collectors item is one to be cherished and passed down to future lovers of Oroton.

Vogue V-50 Clutch (right)
In July of this year Oroton collaborated with Vogue Australia to develop a limited edition clutch to celebrate 50 Years of Vogue in Australia. Only 100 pieces of the black V-50 Clutch were ever made which cold out in 3 weeks! During the development of this collector’s piece, Oroton’s Creative Director sampled one cream version which is being exclusively for purchase through The Studio.
