Madonna’s Dior shoes raised $16,600 for Roma (Gypsy) children

madonna-dior-romaLast month news broke that Madonna had donated a pair of specially made Christian Dior shoes to a charity supporting education of Roma children (a subgroup of the Romani people and are also known as Gypsies). They were auctioned off at the fifth annual Ovidiu Rom Halloween Charity Ball held in Bucharest, Romania for approximately USD$16,600.

But Hindu statesman Rajan Zed reportedly said that Madonna, who was principally against Roma discrimination should do something more substantial for the Roma people who were facing apartheid conditions and are seen as a social blight on Europe.
