Cindy Crawford’s blackmailer charged

Edis Kayalar has been charged with allegedly attempting to extort $100,000 from supermodel Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber. The German man claimed he had a photo of Crawford’s then seven-year-old daughter Kaia bound to a chair and gagged and would sell the photo to the media if they didn’t pay up. The picture was confirmed as real when Kaia told her parents that she was playing a ‘cops and robbers game’ with her nanny – who had reportedly taken the photo.

Cindy’s spokesperson told the media that the family “intend to pursue any and all available legal action against anyone who aids the perpetrator in the distribution or sale of the photograph of their daughter.” [Marie Claire]
