Wellington here we come

airnz-plane-smallEveryone around us seems to be jet setting off to foreign lands thanks in large part to fashion week – and now it’s our turn. We’re heading to Wellington, New Zealand to sample the fashionable sights and sounds this weekend so stay tuned. Posts will be coming through as usual, but we will be sharing the fun we have under the Kiwi sun. I would love to know what are your fashionable tips for Wellington if you’re a local.

Oh exciting! Welcome to NZ, and to Wellington! Let me know if you need any help finding your way round 🙂

Wellingtonians are way more adventurous with fashion then any other place in NZ I know.

In my age group 18-30s. It’s all about creating your own style. The trend is to mix and match. Especially old with new. Go to the various second hand stores such as Recycle Boutique or Savemart and get something awesome! E.g. an 80s styled leather jacket

Also Wgtn is quite chilly so chunky knit scarves or patterned ones + a cute hat are a must!

    Welcome to Wellington!

Top tip – beware the wind. Can make skirts fly up without warning, which can be a bit embarrasing at times, so make sure you’re wearing purty underwear just in case! Same deal with hair – clips, headbands and hairties can be a very useful thing to have in your bag.
There are some awesome local designers around here – check out Duncan and Prudence in Newtown, Juniper (also in Newtown – clothing and design stuff by Kiwi’s), Fruitti (Cuba Mall), ‘SWonderfull (Victoria St), Artikel (Wakefield St) for cute locally made (and often one-off or limited edition) designs. Wellington is all about being unique and, as Rachel said, creating your own style. 🙂

If you want to create your own style a la Wellington – definitely pay a visit to us at Chris Cole Jewellery! It’s in Mount Victoria, Wellington. A place where you can work with Chris to design your own signature jewellery piece!

    You can’t kill pretty face!
