NYFW S/S 2010: Michael Angel, what a gem
There has been considerable buzz around New York and indeed the blogosphere about this Australian designer and his brightly coloured tights. Known for his prints, Michael Angel had a different take on incorporating colour in his spring summer 2010 collection at New York Fashion Week. He showed off his love of the colourful and sparkling gem stone. But not in the form of embellishment – his fluid pieces were covered in prints of gems and jewellery with flamboyance a resounding theme from the show. Angel loves his glamorous women and for Spring Summer 2010, he designed a collection especially for them. And fittingly, fellow Aussie Nicole Trunfio were given a starring role in his show while Myf Sheperd told Modelina that she didn’t even have to go to a casting.
