NYFW S/S 2010: Herve Leger by Max Azria, bandage me up

It’s been a busy week for Max Azria and he still hasn’t even shown his namesake line at New York Fashion Week yet (though I wonder if he gets a discount, show two collections and get one show fee waivered – after all he shows BCBG by Max Azria, Herve Leger and then Max Azria). With a celebrity front row which included Mischa Barton, Amanda Bynes and Hilary Duff, we knew that we would be in for one red carpet worthy runway show.

The signature Herve Leger bandage dress were back for another season but were kept fresh with a combination of bandages, braiding, crochet, beaded embellishment and prints. But it was Azria’s play with fraying denim this season that bought the body con look to a new level. It was an interesting move with denim available in an array of colours and the distressed edges made for some very intriguing dresses and paired with the right accessories could be a refreshing change on a red carpet.
