LFW S/S 2010: Sass & Bide celebrate 10 years where it all began

Returning to where it all began for them was Sass & Bide on Friday. A decade after selling their designs on Portobello Road, the Aussie duo celebrated their 10th anniversary by showing their Spring/Summer 2010 collection for the first time at London Fashion Week’s 25th anniversary.
Despite a few setbacks in recent years, Heidi Middleton and Sarah-Jane Clarke assured the press that they are here to stay, unveiling a completely denim-free futuristic collection infused with Aztec embellishments.
Metallic racerbacks sat atop loose harem pants, while long floaty Grecian gowns were given a rock-chic edge courtesy of chrome necklines. However, the show-stopper came with perhaps Sass & Bide’s new version of their wildly popular Black Rats leggings – The Afterworld tights, a combination of sheer mesh and metal armour. I can’t wait to see which starlet will attempt to pull these off first. Will it be Australian cricket WAG Lara Bingle, who sat front row?
