LFW S/S 2010: Matthew Williamson, returns home with a bang

Each season, I look forward more and more to what Matthew Williamson will deliver. I’m sure many will agree that he has come a long way since his signature floaty, feminine frock-filled days. Returning to his home town to London Fashion Week after several seasons in New York and a sell-out H&M collection, it goes without saying that Williamson is back with a bang.
Shiny suits helped kicked things off, followed by spangly embellished dresses and blouses. Cut-out body-con dresses in an array of psychedelic and neon colours provided the wow-factor, while touches of the old Williamson were evident in floor-sweeping printed chiffon gowns.
Rounding out his spring 2010 offering were skinny leather trousers, an electric blue geometric smoking suit and glamorous accessories in the form of bejewelled swimwear and beaded bohemian looks. It was enough to attract a bevy of his A-list pals, including Twiggy, Yasmin Le Bon and New Yorkers Leigh Lezark and Olivia Palermo.
