Revealed: The Heidi Klum Barbie complete with her own sequined mini dress

Say hello to the Heidi Klum you can take home to meet the family, the Heidi Klum Barbie. She may not be 5″9 like the Victoria’s Secret Angel, but this like the model and Project Runway host, this Barbie had her outfit custom made – by Robert Best, former Project Runway 4 contestant and long time fashion designer for Mattel nonetheless.

“[Heidi] is a pleasure to work with, it was so much fun to do,” Best told Australian newspaper, MX.

While Best didn’t go on to win Project Runway, he did design a dress that epitomises her ‘I’m a dress shortener’ mantra. We suspect Heidi-the-Barbie’s dress was inspired by the sequined mini dress Klum wore on stage at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2007, when she sung a duet with her husband Seal.

The special edition Heidi Klum Barbie doll will be available in September 2009 as part of Barbie’s 50th Anniversary Blonde Ambition Collection which immortalizes a series celebrating iconic blondes in fashion and entertainment in plastic.
