Gareth Pugh & Daphne Guinness on the cover of Time Out London’s Fashion Week issue

British designer Gareth Pugh may have decamped to Paris to show his collections, but he still knows where that home is where the heart is and is celebrating London Fashion Week by guest editing Time Out London.

He looked fierce on the cover as he posed with his dream cover star Daphne Guinness. Adding to the drama of Pugh’s designs was Guinness’ spunky black and white striped hair, sculpted into a dramatic bouffant.

As the accompanying interview reveals, the pair are great fans of each other, creating a wonderful new fashion designer/muse pairing like Amanda Harlech and Karl Lagerfeld.

“It’s more than clothes, so geometric,” Guinness tells Time Out about Pugh’s designs. “It ticks all the boxes for me. It’s mathematical, many of the pieces are cut on the bias and they sort of solidify when you put them on,”

In return, Pugh says: “Daphne is one of those people who really knows what she wants. She’s an iconic, fashion-forward, thinking kind of person and she’s interested and excited about different things. She’s a very big supporter of creativity, which I have great admiration for.”
