Katie Holmes for Miu Miu Spring 2009 – first image unveiled
Katie Holmes smolders in the first released image of the Miu Miu Spring 2009 advertising campaign.
Photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott last month in New York, the former Dawson’s Creek star sports thick eye liner and a graffiti splattered dress in front of a background reminiscent of the saturated and sun-drenched hues of Grecian sunsets. As a release from Miuccia Prada’s office said, it was “an atmospheric nod to a certain Fellini-esque chaotic excess, updated with the contemporary Miu Miu spirit.”
While we’re not a big fan of this campaign (the Kristen Dunst for Miu Miu campaign was so much more stunning) we do hope that the news bite that Katie would be joined by either other models – Katie Fogarty, Myf Shepherd, Darya Kurovska, Imogen Morris-Clarke, Sophie Srej, Tilda Lindstam, Elena Lomkova, and Yulia Leontieva – comes true, even if they are just part of the backdrop.

Hate the campaign. The juxdeposition of Katie’s leg is very akward. It looks like it was broken and it was just stuck into the picture.
i cant wait to see other ads.
