Designer bag? That’s ok my Bag Ladies bag says it all

Cute fashionable slogans have been popular for years, remember Henry Holland’s slogan tee’s and Anya Hindmarch’s ‘I’m not a plastic bag’ bag?

Well now you can show everyone that while you wouldn’t mind carrying around a designer bag (I would personally do almost anything for a Chanel 2.55 bag), with the currently world economy you’re happy with a canvas tote emblazoned with slogans like “My other bags are Prada…” and “Louis Who?”.

These irreverent slogans can be found on totes made by Bag Ladies, a Sydney label started by Caroline Yates and each bag retails for AUD$29.95 (approx USD$20, Euro€15, GBP£14).

“Two of my best-selling bags are having a laugh at very expensive alternatives, so I suppose there is a lot more interest now in the idea of the recession-proof bag,” she told The Australian newspaper.

Made off 100% brushed cotton, these bags come with a handy internal pocket with a zip for your keys, phone and lip balm, then you can fill it with everything you need to get through the day.

I’m thinking I need the “My other bags are Prada…” bag as my grocery shopping bag. They’re just too cute.

[Edit Jan 29, 2009] I walked past a girl toting the ‘Prada’ bag today and it was so cute sitting under arm. I swear I could just see the whole look in Teen Vogue or something.
