Claudia Schiffer plays it coy for Chanel’s fall winter 2008/09 ad campaign

When paparazzi pictures of Claudia Schiffer being photographed by Karl Lagerfeld for the Chanel fall winter 2008/09 advertising campaign with the German supermodel sporting a short black bob, I was hoping for an edgy and modern advertising campaign.
These photographs (from the latest edition of British Vogue) remind me of Mango/MNG campaigns than Chanel, but the strapless lace dress is gorgeous.
This is the second season in a row Claudia has fronted the Chanel advertising campaigns – that is after she was dropped after 5 years as the face of the French house after she was dropped in 1996 when the heroin-chic look was at its peak. The 37 year-old supermodel kept her position as the face of the brand even though her younger contemporaries, Coco Rocha and Masha Novoselova have fronted campaigned for Chanel’s Paris-London and Sport campaigns respectively.
What do you think of the images?
