Flashback: Marc Jacobs’ talks about his 1987 collection on a ladder
“Now I’m into t-shirts, underwear, slips, and stockings… so I’m making clothes that look like underwear” say Marc Jacobs in this clip from Andy Warhol’s 1980s MTV show, Fifteen Minutes.
But that the reason why this is a must watch clip. It’s a must watch because Marc Jacobs is sitting on top of a ladder Michelle-Phiffer-in-Grease-2-style, complete with waist length long brown locks and models climbing up and down one side as the room has smoke swirling around.
Oh and the clothes… I loved the bias cut dresses, or slip’s as Marc calls them. That’s as much as I’m going to say until you watch the video.

Look at his hair! It almost could be a 1980s music video clip, just add the 80s pop.
Good find!
That’s brilliant! Such beautiful hair. I agree that the style is similar to an 80s music video. Had such a crush on Marc Jacobs back in school.
