When the latest Harry Potter movie hit screens last year, fashion watchers were wondering if Emma Watson had a secret deal with Chanel to wear their dresses on all her red carpet walks.
Now there could be an explanation.
Word has it that 18-year-old Watson (also known has Hermione Granger to Harry Potter fans) has signed a two-year contract deal with Chanel to be their new face of their Coco Mademoiselle fragrance, replacing fellow British actress, Keira Knightley.
A source told The Daily Mail that the two-year deal is reportedly worth £3million for the actress, and an announcement is due next month confirming the deal.
“Once it became clear she is growing into a beautiful young woman and wears the Chanel brand so elegantly, they had to sign her up. Chanel realises it is important to target a young audience,” the source said. “Emma has been excitedly telling friends that she is going to be taking over from Keira.”
The source also added that while Keira may be out as the face of Coco Mademoiselle from this summer, there could be another role for her at Chanel.
If these rumors are true, then boy has there been an abundance of changes at Chanel recently, first with Audrey Tautou replacing Nicole Kidman as the face of Chanel No. 5 and now this.
I’m not a harry potter fan, but I think Emma Watson has such a gorgeous, natural look to her. She suits the fragrance to a tee.
