Vogue’s love affair with Natalia Vodianova and Steven Meisel

Natalia Vodianova may have quit the runway, but she’s still one of the reigning cover girls with four different Vogue’s using her as their cover girl while all the covers shot by friend and famed fashion photographer Steven Meisel.

Vodianova’s first Vogue cover of 2008 was the cover of Vogue Korea’s February 2008 issue with the Russian model sporting a trilby, pink blazer and bright pink lip gloss. The following month she was a romantic gamine with a touch of vintage glamour for Vogue Russia’s March 2008 issue.

Then Vogue Italia used the Russian born British society lady on their April 2008 cover looking every inch the Grecian goddess, or an icon as the cover line screamed. Then British Vogue have just unveiled their May 2008 cover, also featuring Vodianova with her face swathed in a patchwork of fabric. It’s her 6th British Vogue cover, and while it’s not quite the 25 that Kate Moss has under her belt, it’s not a bad (growing) number.

If this stream of Vogue covers say anything, it’s that Vodianova one versatile woman who has connections all over the world and will bring good friends like Meisel along for the ride.

Which is your favourite Vodianova cover, and which Vogue will she pop up on next?

Where did they get that delicious hot pink gloss for the Korea cover?? Any suggestions? I’ve searched all over.

    Hi JLynn,

NARS do some good lip stains that might come in a similarly bright colour. Otherwise try MAC or Tarte.
