Christian Lacroix for La Redoute spring 2008

British model Lily Cole is again the face of the La Redoute’s collaboration with French designer, Christian Lacroix for the spring 2008 season. The collection hit their website yesterday with vibrant safari prints the key to the collection, but there was no must-hate item unlike last season’s red ruffled trench coat.

The clothing collection was smaller than expected, but no stand out item except for the hooded poncho for £59 with some interesting thigh high socks, a school girl-like straw hat for £39, and a tribal print vest for just £25.

But what I thought was especially amusing was the outdoor furniture and gardening tools. Obviously not aimed at gardeners, but for those of us who love fashion and like to think we can dabble in the garden every now and then.

I love the cool Christian Lacroix pour La Redoute downloadable wallpapers (one is pictured above) and the cool interactive flash animation where you can direct Lily to walk through the Lacroix designed wonderland.

Check it all out for yourself at www.christianlacroixpourlaredoute.com.

To me the Lacroix for La Redoute web installation was an example of really bad programming. It took forever to load, and then it was unclear how to actually use it once it loaded. And persistence didn’t pay off – once I actually found the products they were very very average.
