Jimmy Choo and Dsquared2 launching eye wear

Just when you thought Jimmy Choo’s couldn’t get more popular, the must-have shoe brand has branched out into sunglasses this summer, with Canadian designers Dsquared2 set to launch their collection early next year.

The Jimmy Choo sunglasses collection are all big sunglasses fans had hoped for with 70s and 80s inspired frames where the ears were given special treatment in the form of metallic and gem embellishments, twisted detail.

The best bit is that all sunglasses come in a slick metallic case that can also be used a clutch bag.

Meanwhile Dsquared2 have signed a partnership deal Marcolin, an Italian sunglass and spectacle manufacturer.

“I’m very satisfied for (the) opportunity to launch a brand such as Dsquared2 in the eyewear industry,” said Maurizio Marcolin, Style & Licensing Officer of Marcolin Group. “Dean and Dan Catens’ great potential and stylistic talent, combined with the high market appreciation for this brand, will ensure an extreme success over the years.”

The first Dsquared eyewear collection will be launched in early 2009 with prescription frames set to be launched soon after.

I am also a big fan of the 70s and 80s sunglasses. I think it will be a very good and novel collection.
