Lancome have announced that Anne Hathaway is their newest brand ambassador, following rumors in October last year that she was in talks with L’Oreal to be a face of one of their brands.

“Anne Hathaway is a radiant young woman who perfectly embodies modern femininity. We know she will portray all the passion and excitement of our new fragrance, to be launched throughout the world in September 2008″, says Odile Roujol, President of Lancôme International.

Anne should round off the Lancome portfolio of faces nicely, with her geek turned chic public image thanks to her characters in the Princess Diaries and The Devil Wears Prada, and younger fan base.

She follows in the footsteps of Kate Winslet, Daria Werbowy, Clive Owen and Uma Thurman as ambassadors for the beauty house.
