A British newspaper has reported that Nicole Kidman’s favourite scent is Jo Malone’s White Jasmine and Mint, not Chanel No.5.
What’s the problem you ask? Well Kidman is the spokesperson of the Chanel No.5 fragrance, with the deal reportedly worth a few million dollars. It’s a big editorial no-no to report that a said celebrity who is aligned with a certain beauty brand actually likes a different one. (Some publications actually have folders referencing what beauty brands models and celebrities can be aligned with in print – ie. Daria Werbowy with Lancome products, Gwyneth Paltrow and Liz Hurley with Estee Lauder as they are models/spokeswomen for those bramds)
An item which appeared in the Daily Telegraph newspaper’s Spy gossip column last week claimed the actress had jeopardised her position as a celebrity spokeswoman for Chanel No.5 after she allegedly applied the Jo Malone scent while walking the red carpet at the London premiere of new film The Golden Compass.
The paper reported Kidman was “dabbing it on whenever she had a moment” during the A-list premiere, which she attended with husband Keith Urban.
The article continued cosmetic giant Chanel was allegedly unhappy with the actress, and that her behaviour had apparently constituted a “breach of contract”.
And the lawyers have gotten on to the case, with media law firm Schillings releasing a statement to the media reportedly saying that the allegations were “entirely untrue” and “grossly defamatory”.
“We have today been instructed to obtain an immediate retraction of such allegations and are taking separate action against The Daily Telegraph,” Schillings said.

Yeah there are definitely some rumours going around that Nicole Kidman is pregnant. But she refuses to comment and give us a definite answer. I guess she’ll string everyone along until finally, several months later, we find out if she really has a baby on the way.
