Samsonite have signed on Viktor & Rolf to design luggage for their Black Label brand. They will follow in the footsteps of Alexander McQueen, who’s debut collection launched earlier this year.

The Viktor & Rolf Samsonite collection will debut in 2009, with Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren “continuing in the designers’ whimsical medium of ‘happy travel’” with a collection for men and women. The collection will include carry-on bags, travel totes and beauty cases – mostly of the soft luggage variety.

Meanwhile McQueen’s Samsonite collection will see the addition of an overnight bag, computer bag, cosmetic pouch, messenger bags, and a 75-centimer four-wheel spinner in a variety of new colours and textures such as ostrich and chocolate.

Milla Jovovich has also been announced as Samsonite’s new spokeswoman, following in the footsteps of Christina Ricci who was the spokesperwoman for their Fashionaire line.
