Halloween in New York: Cavalli as Lagerfeld, Gemma Ward as Lakshmi

They say imitation is the highest form of flattery, so Karl Lagerfeld should be very flatter that Roberto Cavalli did his best impersonation of the Kaiser at Cipriani’s on 42nd Street in New York Halloween party. His costume was complete with Lagerfeld’s signature long black coat, sunglasses, gloves and array of rings adorning his fingers.

It seemed half the city also dressed up to the nines with V magazine’s annual Halloween bash at the Gramercy Park Hotel filled to the rafters with the likes of Gemma Ward, Lisa Cant, Hilary Rhoda, Daria Werbowy, Julia Restoin Roitfeld and Chloe Sevigny in attendance.

Co-hosts for the evening, Stephen Gan and Ward had chosen to dress up as Vixhnu (God of Protection) and Lakshmi (Goddess of of Wealth & Beauty) respectively. The pair apparently spent two hours in make-up to get their head to toe looks.

Who had the better costume, Gemma & Stephen or Roberto Cavalli?
