Viktor & Rolf to launch handbag collection in spring

Viktor Horsting & Rolf Snoeren don’t seem to sleep! They have a new fragrance soon to be released, a spring summer collection to be shown in Paris in a matter of hours, but they have found time to put together a collection of handbags this spring with Italian manufacturing company Gibò.
The Daily reports that the bags “are expected to broaden the designers’ avant-garde tastes to appeal to a larger market.” The bag collection will feature 5 different bag styles in satin, patent leather, lizard, woven rffia and textured kidskin. With wholesale prices ranging from $600 – $1,000, I really don’t want to know how much the bags will retail for.
Each bag has been given super cute names like: What’s Up, I’m Fine (pictured above right), Just a Moment, and Good Evening (pictured above middle). With such conservative looking bags (by Viktor & Rolf standards – you have to remember these are the guys who sent models down with light fixtures attached to them), their spring 2008 collection should be interesting.
