Francesca V (for Versace), a name to watch in fashion?

She’s the daughter of Santo Versace, and is the niece of Donatella and Gianni. So it is almost expected that Francesca Versace (pictured right) graduated from Central Saint Martins last year and is an up and coming fashion designer herself.

What I found amusing is her little story about playing with real life Barbie dolls – Claudia Schiffer and Cindy Crawford. And according to Dazed, she also once hung out with Naomi Campbell, back in the day.

“One of my favourite memories was when Naomi would drag my cousin Allegra and I into the photo shoot to take pictures, and my uncle would scream at the three of us,” she told the magazine.

So, what has she designed? Well besides her final collection for Central Saint Martins, Francesca showed her collection for Singapore based label, All Dressed Up, during Paris fashion week under the name Francesca V.

Only time will tell whether she’ll be setting trends like her Aunt and Uncle. My guess is yes, a name like Versace can get you quite far in the fashion world. She is a direct blood relative after all.
