Cate Blanchett and Alicia Keys wear fall 2008 Armani Prive on the red carpet

Cate Blanchett has a budding relationship with Giorgio Armani, most recently asking the the designer to donate money to her pet project, the Sydney Theatre Company. These past few days, she and Alicia Keys have been photographed wearing the dazzling fall 2008 Armani Prive haute couture pieces on the red carpet.

Cate Blanchett’s green and black Prive gown with a plunging sweetheart neckline was modeled on the runway by Dianna Gartner, but Cate showed that the dress looks amazing on her statuesque figure (minus the diamonte studded hat) at the Elizabeth: The Golden Age premiere at the Rome Film Festival. Meanwhile Alicia Keys wore the Prive dress first worn by Yevgeniya Kedrova on the runway at Thursday nights Swarovski Fashion Rocks event at London.

Who looked better in Armani Prive, Cate or Alicia?

Both women wore Armani Prive down to their shoes, it’s a shame that Cate and Alicia didn’t wearing the matching gloves.

I love that Cate takes so many fashion risks given she could play safe with the guarantee of looking amazing. She definitely makes red carpet a more interesting affair.

I love the Prive look on Cate, she can pull off the theatrics of Haute Couture with class and grace. But Alicia just looks awkard in her Prive gown.

Cate looks amazing. She is so statuesque that she can pull off almost anything. The colour is amazing on her as well.

Alicia looks too stumpy and awkward in her dress. She needs to be taller to carry it off. Cate could probably work it, but not Alicia.
