Pierre Hardy designs shoes for European Gap

Pierre Hardy began his career with Christian Dior shoes in 1988 before launching his own self-titled collection in 1999, then becoming creative director for Hermes Jewelry, and most recently designing shoes for Balenciaga (he designed the extreme sneaker heels for the brands Fall 2007 collection).

Well now you can get the influential designer’s artistic shoes for less. European Gap have announced that Hardy will design a collection for chain, called Gap by Pierre Hardy.

“We are very happy to have the opportunity to collaborate with a world-famous talent like Pierre Hardy, and to offer to our customers his aesthetic vision of Casual Gap,” said Stephen Sunnucks, President of Gap Europe.

The collection will include both women’s and men’s footwear, but a small collection hitting Gap shelves this winter, before a more extensive collection to be unveiled for Spring 2008.

If you can’t get your hands on the Pierre Hardy for Gap collection, there is always his own collection which is available at Barneys.com now.
