NYFW S/S 2008: Willow

Willow’s spring summer 2008 collection started with a storm, well, what sounded like a storm and the soundtrack kicked into gear. Fitting since the collection was called the H20 collection.
Then came the array of flowing designs inspired by draping technique designer, Kit Willow Podgornik, learnt while studying at Atelier Chardon Savard in Paris earlier this year. The flowing materials swirled and twisted around the models as they came down the catwalk in beautiful flowing designs.
The collection was a step up from the designer, who I’m glad to see, is still persisted with the sort of metal embellishments that set her ready-to-wear pieces apart from the mainstream a few years ago in Australia. It was a fresh and interesting collection, but perhaps a little over shadowed by the likes of Diane von Furstenberg and Micheal Kors showing that day.
