NYFW S/S 2008: Derek Lam

Derek Lam showed a spring summer 2008 collection that was sassy, glamorous and pretty in New .

Day looks included playsuits, flirty dresses, blazers and shirts made of raw silk. Then came the after hour looks where the hem lines rose to sexy miniskirt lengths. Puff sleeved shirts featured pussybows, with an array of beaded sheaths and sequined miniskirts.

This collection was definitely one for the party girls who want to look young, fresh and provocative.

Which just happens to be how he described his inspiration, photographer Guy Bourdin. “I’ve always loved his work,” Lam said. “He’s the other side of Helmut Newton—young and fresh and provocative.”
