News bites: New York Fashion Week S/S 2008 and more

So much news, so little time…

  • Looks like one designer isn’t the biggest fan of ‘fashionably late’. Phillip Lim closed the doors on editors who “sauntered up to the Celeste Bartos Forum at the New York Public Library more than ten minutes late were barred from entering.”
  • Vera Wang showed her Spring 2008 collection at NYFW, and it coincided perfectly with the launch of her Simply Vera Vera Wang collection hitting Kohl’s on Sunday.
  • Fashion Targets Breast Cancer together with Net-A-Porter, Ralph Lauren, Sasha Pivivorova, Daria Werbowy, Lily Cole and Lily Donaldson. Each Ralph Lauren polo shirt will retail at $76 at Net-A-Porter with proceeds going to help breast cancer in the customer’s country. Designs by Rachel Roy, Diane von Furstenberg and Oscar de la Renta will be unveiled in the coming months.
  • And for more gossip from New York Fashion Week… check out this WWD article. Hear about who was front row at Michael Kors and, Proenza Schouler, read about why Behnaz Sarafpour missed her own show, and did you know Ivanka Trump’s name is a trade mark?
