News last week was that the world’s richest supermodel, Gisele Bundchen, was bound for Australia this October to promote her line of footwear, the Gisele Bundchen Ipanema Collection.
The footwear range is a avenue for Gisele to raise money to help Brazil’s less fortunate with a percentage of the sales going towards the Y Ikatu Xingu Campaign, which aims to preserve the headwaters of Xingu River system in the Brazilian Amazon and the livelihoods of those who live there. This will be her first visit to Australia.
It will be a home coming this week for Australian models, Catherine McNeil, Nicole Trunfio, Kristy Hinze, Cheyanne Tozzi and Alexandra Agoston-O’Connor. The first four models will be part of David Jones’ Fantastic Four line up to partner Megan Gale in the spring summer season opening department ‘store wars’, while Agoston-O’Connor will line up with Myer and former Miss Universe, Jennifer Hawkins.
This will be one of the first trips home for McNeil after landing the covers of French Vogue, V, and the fall advertising campaigns of Donna Karan, Versace and Hugo Boss. While Agoston-O’Connor recently strutted down the fall 2007/08 Haute Couture catwalk for Armani Prive and Christian Dior.
So how do I get myself a front row seat for these shows…?[Via the SMH.com.au and News.com.au]
