Karl Lagerfeld to launch fragrances through Coty Inc

Last week, on the beauty grapevine, it was revealed that Coty Inc (responsible for fragrances from Marc Jacobs, Calvin Klein, Sarah Jessica Parker, Vera Wang and Kylie Minogue) had signed a licensing deal to market a signature line of Lagerfeld fragrances.

“Karl Lagerfeld is one of the, if not the, most influential fashion icon, idol and trendsetter of the 20th Century, and no doubt his legacy will be idolized by generations to come,” said Bernd Beetz, CEO, Coty Inc in the release.

No word on what the future holds for the Lagerfeld line of fragrances, but it should be interesting to see what the man behind Chanel has to offer under his own name.

I’m hoping for something different and/or spectacular like Viktor & Rolf’s Flowerbomb or Tom Ford’s Black Orchid. You would expect nothing less from Lagerfeld, really.
