The Longchamp Legend bag Kate Moss helped design
What pies does Kate Moss not have her fingers in? There is that fragrance deal with Coty, that Topshop thing, those wedding rumours… now the bag she “helped add the final design touches to” for Lonchamp has been released, called the Legend. After being the face of three Longchamp advertising campaigns, Kate just fell in love with the a doctor’s medical bag from the Seventies.
According to Vogue.co.uk
Longchamp asked the supermodel what exactly her ideal handbag would look like. The black patent tote was still a prototype when Moss shot the spring/summer 2007 campaign in New York, but apparently, she couldn’t put it down. “She fell in love with it,” says Jo Walker from Longchamp. “She immediately suggested a red lining to contrast with the black leather and the end result is the Legend.”
The medical theme for Longchamp’s Summer 2007 collection is because of artistic director Sophie de la Fontaine. “She found an original doctor’s bag and thought it would be great to work with and transform into a stylish handbag. Sophie kept it in archive for a few years and used it for reference to make the Legend.”
