Marc Jacobs back in rehab

Influential designer Marc Jacobs is back in rehab just a day after showing an impressive Louis Vuitton Autumn/Winter 2007 collection to close Paris fashion week.

He flew back to America to a facility in Arizona the day after the show to undergo drug and alcohol counseling after a recent relapse.

According to the WWD.com, Jacob’s business partner Robert Duffy confirmed the rumor that had been buzzing through New York. “Marc made the right decision…He’d been sober for seven years. When he relapsed, he wanted to deal with it right away,” Duffy told the trade mag.

This is his second time in rehab and follows a very busy season, showing his Marc Jacobs collection in New York, followed by Marc by Marc Jacobs collection in London, then two weeks later showing the Louis Vuitton collection in Paris.

This is the second time the designer for Louis Vuitton and his eponymous collection has undergone treatment for addiction. He was in rehab in 1999.

We wish him the best of luck and hope he gets all the help he can.

On a side note, Marc Jacobs has been nominated for the Council of Fashion Designers of America’s 2007 Womenswear Designer of the Year awrd. He will compete for the honor with Oscar de la Renta, and Proenza Schouler’s Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough.
