Lipstick Jungle to star Brooke Shields – the next Sex and the City?

We’ve heard rumours for over a year that Candace Bushnell’s book, Lipstick Jungle, will be turned into a TV series like her first book, Sex and the City.

Well now rumours have it that Brooke Shields has been cast as Wendy Healy a harried movie exec, wife and mom. The show will revolve around wealthy, successful women in their forties dealing with their careers and relationships in New York City. The other characters are Victory Ford who is a fashion designer, and Nico O’Neilly who is a magazine editor Nico O’Neilly.

The original cast for the proposed Lipstick Jungle included Melissa George and and Gina Gershon.

It should be interesting to see what will happen with this show. It seems that movies and TV shows that feature characters – to name a few there’s Devil Wears Prada, Ugly Betty, How to Lose a Guy in 10 days – working in fashion is tres chic right now.
