Brad Ngata’s got his eye on what’s hot in LA

Pictured above: Michelle Trachtenberg does all the LA trends Brad spotted – from the long lush locks, black nail polish and the pirate scarf. Talk about LA chic. Did Brad pick it or what! Also pictured L-R: White skull sash from Alloy, Target red skull sash, Black skull sash from Urban Outfitters.

It’s always interesting to see what’s going on fashion wise around the world, and if you can’t get there, the next best thing is to have someone with a fantastic eye for trends to do it for you.

And according to Australia’s Hair Expo Australian Hairdresser of the Year, Brad Ngata, LA is going Goth. He recently toured LA to attend some hair industry events but took some time out to share his thoughts on what’s hot on the streets of LA this season…

“The rich and fabulous have gone Goth. And Goth has gone chic. Like Siena Miller and Nicole Richie – the skull and cross bones scarf is hot in LA and everyone’s must have accessory,” he said.

And Michelle Trachtenberg goes as far as to wear one on the beach to tie down her kaftan.

Brad’s next LA trend is to pair the pirate scarf with with short black nails.

“Once a style staple of goth kids and grunge rockers, black nail polish is back and it’s perfect for showing off some edgy sophistication.”

And then he tells us that for hair styles, LA girls are going for a long dark shagcut, the bowl or the mullet styles. But if dark hair choppy locks is not your thing, try long and luscious hair.

“It’s all about long hair in LA, and they want it now! Bring in the Hair Extension revolution, extensions are now not only reserved for the rich and famous.”

Book in for your Brad Ngata Hair Extension revolution at his Sydney salon (which is so funky and fabulous – the décor alone is a reason to pop by), visit www.bradngata.com.au or call 02 9281 1220 for more.

Now if only I looked good with hair extensions – perhaps I should just invest in pair of beautiful curling irons…
