Long legs may look amazing but being tall comes with it’s own set of fashion problems. Namely finding pants and jeans with an inseam long enough so that the cuff goes all the way down to the shoe. After all you don’t want every pair of pants and jeans you own to be capri length.
A tall 6″1 friend of mine had been hunting for jeans for months before she decided it was easier to task me with the challenge of finding fashionable denim that had leg lengths long enough for her long legs. Who doesn’t love a a fashion challenge? So I I accepted the challenge and started my search – online of course – for jeans for tall women.
First we had to confirm the length we needed, so out came a tape measure out and measured the inseam of her favourite pair of trousers – the inseam should be measured from the crotch to the hem. This is ideal because you will know for sure if you need a 35″, 36″, 37″ or 38″ inseam.
Most denim brands offer a standard 34″ inseam which is great if you’re about 5″10 or shorter, but for the taller girls you’re looking at a required inseam of 36″, 37″ or even 38″. That extra inch can make all the difference when it comes to wearing heels or having an extra few centimetres to work with.
Jeans for Tall Girls: The Budget Jeans
For women who don’t want to spend too much money, GAP has to be your one stop shop for jeans with a long inseam. Their online shop allows you to search styles according to the leg length you wall – from short, regular to tall and the tall girl inseam starts from 35″ to 38″ for some pairs.
Jeans for Tall Girls: The ‘Designer’ Denim
If affordable denim isn’t your thing and you’re willing to spend a little more on a pair of jeans, then True Religion jeans are your friends. They may set you back upwards of $200 – $250 a pair, but some of their popular styles have an inseam of 37″, like their Alexa Skinny Jean (above ), while the Julie Stretch Stovepipe jeans have a 36″ inseam.
