Since when were hair pins cool again? Maria Sharapova and Scarlett Johansson think they are
Well what do ya know, two stylish girls have been snapped wearing hair pins in the space of 24 hours. One in Venice and the other on a tennis court in New York.
Scarlett Johansson strolled on the to Venice Film Festival red carpet sporting a diamante butterfly hair pin and looking very 1920s glam as she is on the promotional trail for her latest film, Black Dahlia.
While Maria Sharapova also strolled out of the locker rooms and on to Arthur Ashe stadium in New York with a little bow hair pin to match her “Audrey Hepburn inspired” tennis dress. Who would have through a sparkly tennis dress would be inspired by a Audrey Hepburn evening dress.
Then again, Maria does have that stylist looking after her… you know, the one every pays to dress them all in identical clothes – Rachel Zoe.
Nonetheless, both Maria and Scarlett will have girls running to their nearest store to pick up from pretty hair pins and barrettes.
Barrettes pictured (L to R, top to bottom): The Glorious Bow Barrette, ASOS Bow Hair Clips, Karen Marie’s Jewels Gold Dragonfly Jaws, L. Erickson USA Small Charmeuse Couture Bow Barrette, Forever 21 Stripe Pattern Hairclips, Forever 21 Butterfly Shape Bobby Pins.

i love the hair pins i think they will be the next big thing and also the fact that they are oh so cheap and oh so cute
I love hair accesories–they are to me what shoes are to many of my friends, but those are way to big and gaudy for an average adult to where in public. They essentially say what Dorothy’s bowed headband said about her–”little girl seeking attention”. Smaller is sometimes better.
